Samsung Nexus S 4G for Sprint, up Close and Personal at CTIA 2011

I can remember when the Nexus One first came out to happy T-Mobile customers nationwide and afterward Google and Sprint announced intentions to start offering it as a CDMA option as well. The project got scrapped after a couple months. The Nexus S, the original phone's followup, has had much more success in actually getting the device to launch on Sprint.

The Nexus S 4G on Sprint is a nice solution for any Nexus phone lovers out there that feel the pain of not having a 4G HSPA+ chipset inside the GSM version and have a need for speed.

The Sprint model on display at CTIA 2011 is no different from the GSM version. In fact, there is no Sprint-specific branding on the phone at all, with the exception of the Sprint name on the top right of the lock screen. That's all that can be found. Since the Nexus S has stuck with its pure vanilla Gingerbread, this means there will be no extra Sprint-related crapware or bloatware to be found on the device.

What do you say? Does this phone become of more interest to you because of the inclusion of 4G WiMax? Now that it's on a CDMA network, might we see an LTE version come out? So many unanswered questions now, but at least you can see some pretty photos. The Nexus S 4G will be available on Sprint sometime in the Spring at Sprint and Best Buy stores (and online).
