One of the social networking site Twitter will soon have a new president of the company, this after founder Evan Williams Twitter promoted to CEO.
Announcements submitted via the blog Twitter, William revealed that requested by the Chief Operating Officer (COO) Twitter Dick Costolo to get into the company as CEO. William will remain at the company and will focus solely on areas of product strategy.
"The challenge from a company that grew so fast is very severe. Growing up was not a success. Success for us means finding our potential as a profitable company that continues to attract users. This is not an easy task. I periodically look in the mirror on the kind of focus that it takes people on Twitter, "wrote Williams, as reported by Mashable, Tuesday (05/10/2010).
"One example is the newly launched a new Twitter. I'm almost satisfied when pushing the direction of a product. To build something that is one of my hobbies, and I have never been this much fun and optimistic earlier in building something. As this was I decided to ask our COO, Dick Costolo, to become CEO of Twitter. Starting today, I totally would focus on product strategy, "he added.
Evan Williams previously was not too fond of the position of CEO at a company. In order to restore the excitement in the field of product strategy, so he decided to become CEO and handed the reins of leadership to Dick Costolo. Costolo previously was the founder and CEO of Feedburner, which received support from Google.
