INQ Cloud Touch - INQ has recently announced two Facebook centered devices recently dubbed the INQ Cloud Touch and Cloud Q. The folks over at Engadget happened to get their hands on the Cloud Touch. The device is candy bar styled and has an “HTC Wildfire like” form factor and feel to it, according to the reviewer. The device will come with Android 2.2 along with its oversize Facebook widget which can take up a whole screen of its own. Along with various software elements, the device will incorporate Spotify Premium and come with Fluency, the typing prediction engine that mans the SwiftKey keyboard. The Cloud Touch is definitely shooting for “easy on your pocket” mode with its scaled down specs. But according to the reviewer, it runs just as good as any device with a typical 1 GHz Snapdragon.



The device is slated for an April release in the UK, at which time we’re sure we’ll get more on pricing info. The smartphone will sport a 3.5″ HVGA screen, 600MHz Qualcomm MSM7227 processor and a 5 MP camera. There is nothing on the top or bottom of the device. You can see a comparison of the size compared to our Droid Incredible, so the Noisehush is pretty smaller. And I can’t explain precisely how light this thing is…. very light. The bottom 2/3 from the front of the device is usually a speaker, which is incredibly loud. I found myself turning the amount down when in a call so it was just so loud, which is not a complaint mind you. That is better than not being competent to hear. Below the LCD screen on the top are 3 buttons… this larger call answer/hangup button at the center and the volume along to either side.
The solar panel takes up about half of the back, and the clear plastic cradle who's snaps into (by means of small magnets at the corners) includes a hole so that the solar panel is unobstructed for maximum charging ability. The plastic cradle also offers suction cups that assist you to attach it to the window within your car. Here are some pictures from the Noisehush in my auto window. You get a graphic on the LCD panel when it is charging, and as you can easily see the LCD screen folds out for you to see it when its mounted at an angle around the windshield. My only complaint using the Noisehush is the location of the microphone. Here is a picture with a red arrow pointing to the place that the mic is located.
